This week, the community garden will be maintained by Lincoln County Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners. No events will be scheduled during the week for other volunteers. Please check back for volunteer opportunities the week of 5 - 11 July. Thank you!
Community Garden plants are growing well despite the heat and lack of rain. Irrigation was increased to run three times during the day to keep plants adequately watered and will be closely monitored each day. Tasks for the day: Harvesting peppers and eggplant Hand-watering beds without irrigation, as needed Washing, weighing, and transporting harvested produce (off-site)
Tasks for the day: Check plants for growth and health. Treat for pests and/or any diseases noted. Treatments must be applied before temperatures exceed 80 degrees. For beds without irrigation, plants need to be hand-watered BOLO for Japanese Beetles and Tomato Hornworms Weeding

Last week, the Community Garden experienced storm damage from two T-Storm events to include high winds. Several tomato-laden plants were blown over.
