VOLUNTEER AS A CO-OP COMMUNITY GARDENER - 2025

If you’re an avid gardener, someone wanting to improve your gardening skills, or just find enjoyment being outdoors in a garden environment with like-minded friends and neighbors, we hope you’ll join our ELCG Community Garden Group as a volunteer gardener! You’ll not only be an active participant in growing fresh fruits and vegetables, but will also make a positive contribution supporting the Lake Norman Food Mission right here in Denver, NC. Whether you contribute a few hours a month or volunteer on a weekly basis, the more hours you participate means you’ll be able to take home and enjoy a share of the harvest. Volunteer participation is at your discretion based on your personal availability and schedule.

You’ll receive in-the-garden guidance and task-direction from the Garden Manager, Garden Management Team, and Extension Master Gardener^SM volunteers so you have a positive learning experience, building confidence in your gardening abilities.

Once your application is received, you’ll be contacted by the Garden Manager with information to get you started as a volunteer.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Each adult family volunteer participant must submit an application.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old. For students (16-18), written parental consent must be received before participating.

Personal Information Protection and Use — Personal information collected will not be disseminated or shared outside of the ELCG Garden Management Team. Emergency point of contact information is required for any unforesen circumstances ocurring at the community garden.

By checking this box, I acknowledge I am applying to be a Volunteer Gardener at the East Lincoln Community Garden (ELCG) for 2025 and will comply with Garden Guidelines available on the ELCG website. I also acknowledge I must sign and return a copy of the YMCA OF CATAWBA VALLEY RELEASE OF WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT which will be provided by the Garden Manager. I understand I will be provided further details about scheduling my volunteer time, recording my volunteer hours, and annotating the Garden Log Book with activities I perform.
