What's happening at the Community Garden

Types of Volunteer Activities

Training

Volunteer gardeners have several opportunities each month to learn new skills working in the community garden. Specific topics will be shown on the event post.

Planting

Scheduled days to transplant new plants into the garden or direct sow seeds.

Plant Upkeep

Tasks involve assessing plant health, staking, pruning, trimming, pest and disease control under the direction of the Garden Manager.

Harvesting Day

Harvest, wash, and weigh produce selected by the Garden Manager

Produce Delivery

Transport and donate harvested produce to a designated local food distribution agency

Garden Maintenance

General garden area, tools, and tool shed maintenance.

Summer Camp Kids

Specific days for youth groups to be in the garden for educational activities. Volunteers are welcome to assist!

Special Events

Days reserved for groups to visit the garden or special activities such as a Garden Open House.
