Plan for the Week | 7 – 13 JUNE

7 June

This week we’ll see plants continue to mature and set fruit/vegetables.  The weather forecast shows several days with temperatues in the 90s so we’ll be on the lookout to ensure adequate watering.  Beds along the west fence were recently planted with sweet potato slips that will need daily hand watering.  Pole beans and cucumbers are starting to get tall enough where we can train them to the supports in the garden bed.  Wednesday morning will continue to be a harvest day so produce can be weighed, washed, and turned over to the Lake Norman Food mission.

Last week saw good harvests for potatoes, the remainder of the garlic, and onions from three beds.

Saturday, 13 June will be our monthly workday with Extension Master Gardeners.

The Garden Manager or Master Gardeners will be on site when the garden is open.  Please check in when you arrive to see how you can add your expertise.
